The Central Committee of the Party of Labour of Austria sends fraternal greetings and congratulations to the delegates of the 21st Congress and all the members of the Communist Party of Greece.
The struggles, the degree of organisation and discipline, the theoretical and strategic elaborations of the KKE are a source of inspiration and strength for communists around the world. The KKE remains a bright example of a strong militant workers’ party, consistent to Marxism-Leninism, revolutionary strategy and class struggle.
The contribution of the KKE to the reconstruction of the international communist movement after the counter-revolution in the USSR is invaluable. The organisation of dozens of international meetings, the International Meeting and the European Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties and the constitution of the European Communist Initiative wouldn't be possible without the initiative and the actual support of the KKE.
Our party is closely following the developments and the struggles of the KKE and the class-oriented workers’ and people’s movement in Greece. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the KKE has stood against the anti-workers and anti-popular policies of the government. It has supported and promoted the workers’ and people’s struggles in the Greek national and the European parliaments, within the labour and trade union movement, the student and pupil movement, the self-employed and farmers movement, the women’s movement, the struggle of artists. In the face of state repression and prohibitions, the KKE called on the people to demonstrate “disciplined disobedience” against the policies of the government that promoted the interests of capital by restricting trade union activity and the right to demonstrate, attacking the rights of students and pupils to education and political expression.
The Theses of your Central Committee for the 21st Congress and the public discussion on them, reflect the serious elaboration of current developments and the firm adherence to the revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism. As all important elaborations of the KKE, the resolutions of your 21st Congress will be studied systematically by our party.
We express our solidarity to the working class and poor popular social strata in Greece that have been suffering under the bourgeois management of the pandemic and the capitalist crisis. In Austria, as in Greece, the bourgeois government and the other bourgeois parties bear great responsibilities. The PdA calls on the working class to form a militant workers’ front and to struggle together with the other popular social strata against the capitalist management of the crisis and in defense of their rights and interests.
In the 8 years since its foundation, the Party of Labour of Austria has made important steps towards constructing a revolutionary working-class party based on the principles of Marxism-Leninism and the analysis of the contemporary development of the capitalist and imperialist system. As a party we have still a long way to go, both organisationally as well as ideologically. However, while other forces – criticizing us for our steadfast course – have been dragged behind social democracy in the labour movement supporting reformist demands, criticizing ‘neoliberalism’ and whitewashing other forms of capitalist management, blindly following ‘movements’ incited by the bourgeois class, directly or indirectly supporting a ‘green’ capitalist reconstruction, aligning themselves with opportunist, liberal and reactionary forces, the PdA has hold a firm stance for the workers’ true interests and needs, against imperialist interventions, ethnic and religious segregation, for proletarian internationalism, for socialism-communism.
Over the years, the PdA and the KKE have developed close fraternal relations based on the same principles, adherence to Marxism-Leninism and the common struggle for the rejuvenation of the working-class movement and the strengthening of the communist movement in our countries. The PdA greatly values the contribution of the KKE in the International Communist Movement and its steadfast stance against the influence of opportunism.
Internationalist solidarity, the deepening of the relations between Communist and Workers’ Parties on a revolutionary basis and the participation in the European Communist Initiative have a high priority in the activity of our party. We are looking forward to further deepening the fraternal relations and enhancing the cooperation between our parties in the period ahead.
We wish your 21st party congress fruitful deliberations and great success.
Long live the KKE!
Long live Marxism-Leninism!
Long live proletarian internationalism!
