Dear Comrades,

The New Communist Party of Britain sends fraternal greetings to our Greek comrades gathering in Athens for the 21st Congress of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) that begins on 24th June.

Bonds of friendship that began when our Party was founded in 1977 have grown from strength to strength in the decades that followed. The KKE has become a pillar in the struggle to defeat Eurocommunism and modern revisionism and it has played a major role in rallying the international communist movement in Europe and the world.

The KKE has led the struggle against the austerity regime of the European Union while leading the fight-back against the bogus Greek social-democratic “left” that does the bidding of the Greek ruling class and Franco-German imperialism.

The world communist movement has learnt from the the experience of the KKE in leading the Greek working class during the pre-war fight for democratic rights, the partisan struggle during the German occupation and the NATO post-war dictatorships that made Greece a vassal of the US imperialism

Your congress comes at a crucial time of creeping fascism throughout Europe as the bourgeoisie desperately strives to stifle the growing demands for an end to the austerity regime and an end to the European Union altogether.

Your Congress will chart the way forward to the inevitably victory of the Greek working class that will surely come in the not too distant future. We wish all your comrades well and look forward to reading about your conclusions in the very near future.

All the best,

Andy Brooks

General Secretary
